Little White Lies

Those little white lies,
meant to disguise,
a truth that was,
too hurtful to bear.

To keep little ears,
safe from their fears,
as they grow up,
through the years.

Those little white lies,
grow into tight ties,
found in the mind of,
more than just a few.

It's okay to lie,
just to get by,
keeping the hurt,
of the truth at bay.

When those lies grow,
get bigger you know,
they become a part of,
life's grand game.

Where lying succeeds,
and everyone heeds,
the big lie as it emerges,
while everyone bleeds.

From an early age, we are fed a remarkable
number of white lies in an effort to indoc-
trinate us and supposedly protect us from
the truth. But generally at puberty or
shortly after, young people began to ques-
tion those lies and the generations often
disagree strongly as a result.
