Roger's shortcut map to Kelly's place was
great until we got into Middletown. As shown on the map we followed
Main Street until we got lost. With some help from a local woman, we
soon met Jeff and Kelley waiting for us in front of their house. Shannon
arrived from school, and soon Amadee and Haley appeared as well. We
retired to the pool for a drink, and Amadee showed off her jumping skills
into the pool. We had to leave too soon. Jeff gave us some of
his beautiful pottery.
We had bypassed Dayton because my cousin Debbie and
Bill were on a tour in Italy. It was a good thing, because it was very
late by the time we reached Louisville. Behram and Gool Randelia waited
patiently for us and served us a wonderful Indian dish for dinner.
Our Super 8 Motel did not have a roll in shower and served very meager breakfast.

Day 8 10/6/07

We arrived at Nancy and Bruce's about 10
a.m. but no one is there. Again, not having a cell phone caused us to
miss them. We talked to a neighbor, and, since it was Saturday, he
thought they had gone into town. On the way south, we passed the town
where they had an old car show and I believe that's probably where they were.
We stopped for the night in northern Mississippi near Jackson. My cousin
Danila was having surgery that week so we couldn't see her and her family.

We left early and arrived at Liberty about
3 p.m. Diann was glad to get home. I drove home myself, glad that I
had taken the trip. |
